U.S. President Barack Obama to be keynote speaker at CRT 2018
Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States, will be the keynote speaker at CRT 2018, slated to be held next March in Washington, DC, MCRN director Ron Waksman, MD, announced in April.
"I am very excited and happy that Mr. Obama has agreed to give the featured talk at CRT 2018," said Dr. Waksman, who is also CRT Course Chairman. "This will make what is shaping up to be the best CRT yet even better."
On November 4, 2008, Obama was elected President of the United States, winning more votes than any candidate in history. Obama’s leadership helped rescue the economy, revitalize the American auto industry, reform the health care system to cover another twenty million Americans, and put the country on a firm course to a clean energy future – all while overseeing the longest stretch of job creation in American history.
CRT 2018 will take place March 3-6, 2018, in the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC. Close to 3,000 interventional and endovascular specialists are expected to attend the four-day conference focused on cutting-edge research in a unique boutique setting. The plan is to continue the 20-year streak of strong growth in the meeting and focus on the latest emerging technology in the interventional cardiology field.
"The main goal for our future meetings is to continue adapting the meeting to the latest technology," Dr. Waksman said. "We will continue to watch for the remainder of 2017 to see what technology will emerge that will have the biggest impact on your practice. That is the technology we will focus on for the 2018 meeting in regard to delivering educational tools and sessions that will boost your skills in those areas."
